Pensioners still view pensions as a 'good move'

Individuals believe that pensions remain the best way to save money, a body has claimed.

The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has released research that found 77% of employees would look more favourably on a company that offered a workplace pension than one that did not.

NAPF director of policy Nigel Peaple noted that those in jobs seem to value pensions, but that they want certainty from them - as they want to ensure that they do not lose money from having one.

Only 18% of those questioned felt that property was the best investment, while 17% of people who currently have a pension said that they planned to increase their contributions this year.

It was recently announced that pension schemes are coming under increasing pressure, with Mark Brooks of the company stating that the Budget needs to put forward a series of proposals that would help those in retirement.
